On November 7, the “Insight into the Future — How Embodied Intelligence Empowers Enterprise Digital Transformation” salon, hosted by the Pudong R&D Institutions Federation, was successfully held in Shanghai.

Experts from academia, industry, and research institutes gathered to discuss the latest trends and frontiers in embodied intelligence technology.

Huang Jueshen, Co-founder and CTO of Slamtec, was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled “An Alternative Answer to Perception and Mobility in Embodied Intelligence.”

In his speech, Huang noted:

“Spatial perception is the ‘eye’ of embodied intelligence. Its precision and reliability determine the depth of an intelligent agent’s environmental understanding and the quality of its decision-making.”

He emphasized that in the era of embodied intelligence, a dedicated and reliable 3D spatial perception technology has become the essential foundation for achieving the “perception–decision–action” closed loop — and a cornerstone for enterprises pursuing intelligent transformation.

Huang also shared Slamtec’s extensive experience and achievements in this field:

Multiple breakthroughs in high-precision LiDAR, 3D visual SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), and multi-sensor fusion;

Professor Pei Ling, Chief Expert of the Slamtec Expert Workstation, Director of the Teaching Development and Student Innovation Center at the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Executive Vice Dean of the Shanghai BeiDou Navigation Innovation Research Institute, also delivered an inspiring keynote titled “Bio-Inspired Embodied Navigation.”

Professor Pei analyzed the latest research progress in embodied navigation and demonstrated, through vivid videos and animations, the cutting-edge results in bio-inspired environmental perception and brain-like cognitive technologies. He pointed out:

“Embodied navigation, as a core capability for general-purpose robotics, is drawing inspiration from the structure and function of organisms in nature. It is now deeply integrated with Large Language Models (LLMs), opening a new paradigm of intelligent navigation.”

At the same time, he acknowledged the challenges that remain — including world-model construction, design of high-DOF embodied navigation hardware, and refinement of dynamic models.

His talk not only revealed the vast potential of embodied navigation but also offered clear direction for future research, greatly expanding the audience’s perspectives on intelligent navigation technologies.
