Witnessed by the Prime Minister of Singapore | Slamtec Partners with SIT and Shanghai Jiao Tong University

On September 16, the new campus of Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) officially opened, with Singapore Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong attending the ceremony and delivering a speech.
At the opening ceremony, Slamtec signed a tripartite cooperation agreement with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and SIT, formally establishing a global partnership focused on cutting-edge fields including robotics, maritime technology, and embodied intelligence. The collaboration aims to promote deep integration of research and industrial innovation.

Slamtec will contribute its extensive robotics expertise, particularly leveraging its Aurora Spatial Perception System, as a cornerstone for the lab’s development.

Aurora Spatial Perception Driving Research Breakthroughs
Slamtec’s Aurora will provide the lab with powerful spatial perception and environment modeling capabilities, enabling research teams to move from geometric information to semantic understanding.
LiDAR and Multimodal Fusion Research
The lab will explore multimodal sensor fusion solutions—integrating vision, millimeter-wave radar, IMU, and more—based on Slamtec’s LiDAR technology. This will enhance robot robustness and safety in dynamic environments, laying a technical foundation for fully operational embodied intelligence robots.
Joint Talent Development
The collaboration plans to establish joint research projects and graduate courses focused on embodied intelligence, allowing students to participate in real-world R&D, experience robot deployment and debugging, and accelerate the translation of research outcomes into practical applications.

During the signing ceremony, Slamtec CEO Chen Shikai engaged in in-depth discussions with the Prime Minister of Singapore, introducing Slamtec’s latest achievements in robotics R&D and industrial applications, as well as outlining the vision and plans for the joint laboratory with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and SIT.

CEO of Slamtec Chen Shikai said: “This tripartite collaboration is highly significant. It is not only a research partnership but also a ‘technology incubator,’ enabling robots to learn and evolve in real scenarios, moving from isolated intelligence to collaborative, autonomous decision-making. It also marks a new model of cross-regional, cross-university collaboration in robotic spatial embodied intelligence. By integrating resources across regions and universities, we inject strong momentum into the innovation and development of robotics technology.”

Media Attention and Industry Impact

The opening of SIT’s new campus and the tripartite cooperation received extensive coverage, with major Singaporean media including The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao featuring front-page reports. The media focus highlights both the significance of the collaboration and the industry’s high regard for Slamtec’s spatial perception technology and algorithms.

With SIT joining, the three parties form a multinational, multi-node innovation network:
Shanghai Jiao Tong University: Cutting-edge algorithms and academic research
Slamtec: Commercial-grade spatial perception technology and scenario-level robotics solutions
SIT: Diverse application scenarios, including maritime, port, and urban services
This “theory-to-industry” closed loop will significantly shorten the deployment cycle of new technologies, promoting large-scale global adoption of robotics solutions.

Looking Ahead

Slamtec will continue collaborating with universities and research institutes worldwide to explore breakthroughs in robotic spatial intelligence, maritime autonomous systems, and embodied intelligence. Through joint R&D and industry demonstration across multiple locations, robots will evolve from isolated applications to coordinated, large-scale operations, bringing intelligent solutions to more industries and driving innovation in the global robotics sector.
