Recently, Slamtec, Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education (ITE), and YWY Technology held a meaningful signing ceremony, officially completing a five-year tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
This marks the beginning of a new chapter of industry-education collaboration in the field of advanced robotics engineering.
This collaboration brings together Slamtec’s industry-leading expertise in core robotics technologies, ITE’s strong foundation in vocational education, and YWY Technology’s deep roots in the Singapore market. Together, the three parties aim to cultivate the next generation of high-end engineering talent for the future.
According to the MOU, the collaboration will include joint efforts in curriculum development, faculty training, student internships, and overseas exchange programs, with a focus on:
Intelligent robotic perception
Autonomous mobility
Electronic engineering and robotics technology
As industry experts, Slamtec and YWY Technology will support ITE in updating curricula and developing teaching materials. They will also provide systematic training for teaching staff, empowering hands-on education and ensuring that vocational training remains aligned with the latest industry technologies.
This partnership represents an important milestone in Slamtec’s global ecosystem strategy and its efforts to build a future-ready talent development system.
We firmly believe that through joint commitment, the collaboration will not only nurture a large pool of highly skilled engineering talent for Singapore and the global robotics industry, but also drive technological innovation and sustainable development across the entire sector — fostering a new generation of intelligent manufacturing professionals.
The Institute of Technical Education (ITE), established on April 1, 1992, is a government-funded public institution directly under Singapore’s Ministry of Education.
Fully supported by the Singapore government, it is also the nation’s only institution authorized to award the International Vocational Qualification (IVQ).
ITE has successfully positioned vocational education as a high-quality, respected, and effective learning pathway. As a key pillar of Singapore’s talent development system, its practice-oriented, collaboration-driven, and highly adaptable vocational model has also become a valuable reference for vocational education systems worldwide.
